Hey, remember me?

Missed y’all.

You may have noticed that you haven’t received anything from space space space in the last couple weeks. There’s a good reason for that. Yesterday morning I accepted a job that I’m excited to tell you about when I get started pretty soon. All I can say right now is that there are very few opportunities I would have left what I was doing for, because I sincerely love writing this newsletter. Working for you guys is the best job I’ve ever had. I mean that.

But yeah, the bad reason for the silence is that space space space is headed to the bench, at least for now. I’ve turned off payment collection, so you shouldn’t be charged anything more from the site (if you are please let me know so I can fix it). There should be no need to cancel or take any kind of action. If you’ve paid for more months than you’ll be getting letters for, including this past one, don’t worry, I’ll take care of that soon.

I’m also writing right now because I have a request. One of the best parts of writing space space space is that its readers are super diverse in terms of age, education, geography, and income, even if you’re all equally obsessive about soccer. Not everyone who wanted to become a paid subscriber was able to, and I wasn’t able to write everything for free because, you know, money exists and stuff. When the project does finally go on hold, I was thinking it’d be cool to open up the archive for whatever weirdos want to go back and read the letters they missed. But since your subscription paid for those letters to exist, I don’t want to make them free without your permission. If you’d object to making the old paid letters free please write to me at john@spacespacespaceletter.com and let me know.

Actually, you know what, feel free to email me regardless. I’ll have time over the next few weeks to respond and it’d be cool to get to know all of you that I don’t already. The world of soccer nerds, I’ve learned, is full of fascinating people.

Anyway, this isn’t the last time I’ll pop up in your inbox. There are still a couple letters I’d like to send out, including a big one on possession value and some closing thoughts when things wind down.
